Environmental, Social and Governance

CC Energy is dedicated to establishing itself as a long-term, low-cost producer of hydrocarbons while prioritizing sustainability and environmental responsibility. At the core of CC Energy’s strategy is a commitment to being a valued member of the community, minimizing environmental impact, and maintaining a small environmental footprint.

The company's vision revolves around creating sustainable, long-term value for both CC Energy and the communities in which it operates.  This vision, endorsed by the entire leadership team, emphasizes a culture that values people as the most valuable asset, prioritizes Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) in decision-making, and manages environmental and social impacts transparently and ethically for the benefit of local communities in which it operates as a whole.

CC Energy places a strong focus on minimizing and mitigating its environmental footprint throughout the project lifecycle. The environmental strategy encompasses reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, minimizing the impact of produced water, responsible waste disposal, and continuous improvement in environmental practices. CC Energy has set ambitious goals for its Oman operations, including a 75% reduction in diesel emissions by 2025, a 90% reduction in flare emissions by 2025 with the end of routine flaring by 2030, and a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030.

In addition to its environmental commitments, CC Energy actively engages in addressing societal impact. The company is involved in various initiatives such as people development, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), In-Country Value (ICV), and Value Delivery (VD) programs, gender diversity, Labour Union engagement, social welfare, and health & well-being.  Notable welfare initiatives include a Contractor HSE Scorecard, a Safety Intervention Program, and a Safety Leadership Transformation Program.

Recognizing the importance of ethical practices, CC Energy has implemented governance measures within the organization. This includes the establishment of an Integrity Committee and an Ethics and Compliance function, a whistleblowing service, internal processes and controls, governance frameworks, corporate risk management, and comprehensive ethics and compliance, as well as cybersecurity awareness training sessions.

CC Energy’s comprehensive approach to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and societal impact demonstrates its commitment to being a responsible and valued player in the hydrocarbon industry, benefiting both the communities it works with and the broader societies it operates in.
